Nepal – Supporting the Orphanage
The Nepal Mission to the Unreached commenced in March 2003 when a young man in Kathmandu called Paul Thapa caught the vision to take the gospel to the mountain villages of Nepal. He and his wife sought God for direction. Within days people came to know the Lord and this great work was launched.
A large number of Churches have been established in Nepal. Each church has a pastor who is instructing the people in the Word of God, and reaching out to neighbouring villages. Most of these pastors have been converted from Hinduism or Buddhism.
Pastor Paul Thapa and his wife Mandira run an Orphanage in Katmandu called the ‘Precious Child Development Home’ with 24 children who are being provided with a secure and stable family environment.
It is the children in this home that Vision4Kids have been able to help through events such as the Three Peaks Alpine Challenge trek to Austria in 2011. The team were able to raise several thousand to go towards an education programme for the children. Bed pushes and street collections, sponsored walks and other events were used to generate the money required for this project.
