Poland – Hope For Youth Ministries
Hope For Youth Ministries focus on reaching children with the gospel in Northern Ireland and is the ministry of evangelist Colin Tinsley from Lisburn and his wife Joanna. Colin’s focus is on children and young people within the province of Northern Ireland but a couple of times in the year he will run Bible Camps in Poland for those children from disadvantaged back grounds. Poland holds close ties with the Tinsley’s as this is where Joanna is originally from and where they met.
Winter and Summer Bible Camp programmes located just south of Krakow see children brought to a Baptist church complex, accommodated and fed free of charge. Activities include; crafts, baking, games and sports, music, basic English and of-course include times of worship and devotions. Out door activities include skiing, horse and sled trips into the forests meeting up at log cabins to cook sausages over open fires – all of which create an unforgettable experience for these under-privileged children.
Through all the activities the leaders of the camp have the opportunity to speak with the children about their need of salvation and are able to encourage and counsel those who are Christians.
Vision4Kids trustee Irwin Adair has been to Poland and experienced the work first hand (Feb-10 and Feb-11). Irwin and wife Ruth have recently returned from Krakow after helping Colin and the Hope For Youth team with the winter Bible Camp.
Vision4Kids have held various events to support the Bible Camp and look forward to further opportunities to assist practically, financially and in prayer.
